DESIGNER KATHY SCOGGIN
TO SHOW DESIGNS FROM NEW COLLECTION
DURING AUSTIN FASHION WEEK

My GiGi Line of Keepsake Little Girl Dresses
Features Easy Style, Exquisite Cut, Playfulness

Austin, TX — Accomplished designer Kathy Scoggin will show designs from her new My GiGi collection of keepsake little girl dresses twice during Austin Fashion Week, in the Accessories and Apparel Showcase at the Driskill Hotel starting at 8:30 p.m. Monday, August 22, and in the Mash Up Teams "Speed, Style and Glory" kickoff at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, August 20, at Cowboy Harley Davidson.

The new collection was inspired by Scoggin's granddaughter, Chloe, and Scoggin's vision in designing the label, season by season, is to create charming easy-to-wear dresses with simple silhouettes, exquisite construction and a little playful story or theme, with a bit of little-girl whimsy and little-girl imagination.

Scoggin plans to launch the My GiGi label in Spring 2012 with representation in NYC and Dallas and open a flagship My GiGi boutique in Austin in time for Fall/Holiday 2013 or in Spring 2014.

The native Texan launched her own label of fashion-forward sportswear and faux-fur jackets, Kathy Scoggin, in 1994, taking the label in three years from totally unknown to representation on 7th Avenue with sales to 150 stores, including in Canada and Puerto Rico, and then expanded into day-to-evening blouses and then Italian lamb skin jackets. In the 1970s, she did private label design for JC Penny, designing contemporary tops themed in groups by colors and fabrics, which were sold in the Dallas area.
