AUSTIN, Texas — Louisiana-born Wayne Toups, one of the most commercially successful American Cajun singers, and his Zydecajun Band perform Friday night on the Cajun Stage, and Cody Canada and the Departed headline Saturday night on the Texas Stage during this year's 22nd Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival, set for Friday-Sunday, October 14-16, on the Downtown Square in Conroe a star— the festival known across the state for its delicious food choices, incredible music lineup, great kids entertainment, dedicated area for Texas wine lovers, and fine arts and crafts vendors.
Festival hours are 6 p.m. to midnight Friday, 11 a.m. to midnight Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. Daily admission at the gate is $12 for adults and free for children 12 and younger ($1 off with two or more canned goods for the Montgomery County Food Bank). For information: 936.539.6009.

Tens of thousands of local and out-of-towner music, food and festival fans are expected at the annual community gathering.
Festival-goers, chefs, artisans and musicians alike rave about the fun they've had at the event, hungry people they've served and customers they've satisfied. Past Festival performer Stoney LaRue says he really loves the area, digs the culture in Conroe and describes the people as "hip and cool."
Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival benefits the non-profit Friends of Conroe Inc., which works to enhance the quality of life in Conroe and Montgomery County through civic and cultural improvements. The group contributes funds to other established nonprofit organizations, promotes community projects and supports the renovation of the downtown Conroe area.
