Jill McGuckin of McGuckin Entertainment PR arrived on the Austin music scene long before the city gained its world-famous musical reputation. In the years before and since, she’s been a tireless worker on behalf of Austin entertainment — as creator of public relations for bands, solo artists, record labels, and entertainment-related community service programs and special events. She has earned “Best Publicist” honors from The Austin Chronicle’s Critics Poll, and since 2005 has been named each time to Austin American-Statesman’s three annual lists of “Fortunate 500” movers and shakers in the literary and media world. She is also considered the go-to girl to hook up musicians, record labels, local and national filmmakers, special event planners, community service program operators, respected visitors to the city, and members of the media.

Heidi Labensart — Publicist

Publicist Heidi Labensart has been working with McGuckin Entertainment PR since before her graduation in 2005 from St. Edward’s University in Austin with a degree in communications.

But she’s had a head and heart for music and entertainment since she was a kid in Colorado, having mastered the fiddle, guitar and mandolin to the point that she can teach them to students, and does. She is currently contest director for the Texas Old-Time Fiddlers Association, and among her list of awards is a first-place finish in the adult division of the Conroe Fiddle Contest.

At McGuckin Entertainment PR, Labensart consults with clients on their goals for their music, record releases and tour publicity; makes suggestions to new artists developing their images; sends out PR material on bands and gigs; maintains the MEPR database; and researches media outlets.

She represents the company at music conferences and seminars and spends a lot of time out and about Austin’s music scene, shepherding clients to interviews and appearances, attending concerts and release parties, and rating clubs and other venues for MEPR and its clients.
