THE BELLEVILLE OUTFIT
TO SHOWCASE AT CMJ MUSIC MARATHON IN NEW YORK

Band Touring Music Festivals & More Behind WANDERIN'

AUSTIN, Texas - The Belleville Outfit, the ingredients of whose acoustic roots music The Boston Globe details as "hot-saucy Texas honky-tonk, city-slicker indie pop, jam-grass mischief, cool jazz and big-band swing," returns to New York City in October to play a showcase during the CMJ Music Marathon that also includes The Del McCoury Band.

The Belleville Outfit, called "a truly memorable, cross-genre powerhouse of a band" by the Asheville (N.C.) Mountain Express, plays its showcase at 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 21, at the Highline Ballroom, 431 W. 16th St. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 day of show; information: 212.414.5994 and www.cmj.com/marathon. The Lee Boys play at 9 p.m., The Del McCoury Band at 10.

"… their instrumental virtuosity, tricky arrangements and sophisticated songwriting touch moves their music beyond fun revivalism," said Nashville Scene of the band's independently released debut album, WANDERIN', which reached #10 on the Americana radio chart. "With Rob Teter occasionally giving over lead vocals to fiddler Phoebe Hunt, the band doesn't stay in one place or within one genre for very long. … WANDERIN' suggests they're capable of heading in most any direction they wish."

Other members are guitarist Marshall Hood, Jonathan Konya on drums, Connor Forsyth on piano and Jeff Brown on upright bass.

After spending this summer on the road, including opening for Lyle Lovett in Baltimore, The Belleville Outfit will perform through fall 2008 at music festivals including the Austin City Limits Music Festival this month and Joshua Tree Roots Music Festival in California in October.
