Retro-billy Quartet Showcasing New Songs

Austin, Texas -- Big Blue Hearts, riding a wave of good will after more than half a dozen appearances during the recent South by Southwest Music Festival, rolls into Nashville for a special industry showcase and an appearance as part of a Western Beat concert series.

The quartet will wrap its romantic retro-billy sound around a number of new songs and cuts from its latest album, HERE COME THOSE DREAMS AGAIN, at its show at 6 p.m. Monday, April 24, at Mercy Lounge, 1 Cannery Row: 615.251.3020. Cover is complimentary. Information: 615.320.5115.

Big Blue Hearts will also offer up its new tunes at 10 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, at Billy Block's Western Beat at 12th & Porter, 114 12th Ave. N. Cover is $5; information: 615.254.7236.

Among the songs on the set list for the Nashville shows is "Here Come Those Dreams Again," the just-released second single and title track of its latest album. "Lovinā You," the heart-touching first single from the album, has spent more than nine months on The Texas Music Chart, climbing as high as #8.

Big Blue Hearts, which relocated to Austin at the end of last year, has been captivating show and radio audiences across Texas and beyond with what Edna Gunderson of USA Today describes as its "dreamy lure: soothing and heartfelt country rock by unrepentant romantics. The rootsy sound gets its heft from Scott Minchk's tasteful guitar solos and David Fisherās lovely croon, just across the holler from Chris Isaak and Roy Orbison."

Songwriter Fisher fronts Big Blue Hearts with dreamy love songs and upbeat ballads wrapped in a velvety baritone. Adding texture and depth and dynamic musicianship are Minchk on lead guitar and vocals, J.B. Burton on bass and vocals, and Greg Sobol on drums and vocals.

The band continues touring nationally to satisfy fans' growing demand for Big Blue Heartsā refreshing love songs, with upcoming dates including:
