BIG BLUE HEARTS
MAKES AUSTIN HOME
AS ITS STOCK RISES

(Austin, Texas) -- The romantic retro-billy band Big Blue Hearts -- a foursome that takes Fifties' pop crooning and country-ballad pathos to a higher level, to great critical review -- has relocated to Austin, and already the band's first single from its latest release is climbing The Texas Music Chart.

"Lovin' You," from HERE COME THOSE DREAMS AGAIN (Eagle Eye Records), Big Blue Hearts' second album (and first independently produced release), continues to climb The Texas Music Chart, reaching #12 on the most recent December chart. Country Music Television.com is featuring the video of the cut -- set against a landmark tour of Hollywood -- on its "New Voices No Cover" feature.

Big Blue Hearts has been touring continuously since DREAMS was released in August, and the band's been sharing bills with the likes of Hootie & the Blowfish and Collective Soul, like it did for the Mix 102.9 KDMX-FM's "Holiday at the Hard Rock" charity event in Dallas.

The first of the band's gigs with Austin rocker Bob Schneider at Austin's Saxon Pub is set for Jan. 23, 2006. Before that, however, Big Blue Hearts plays shows with big Texas "countrybilly" combo Two Tons of Steel -- January 5 at The Black Gold Bar & Grill in Crowley and January 12 at Firewater Bar & Grill in Dallas -- and the unique styles of each ought to complement the other's in a startling and pleasing way.

Big Blue Hearts is frontman David Fisher on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Scott Minchk on lead guitar and vocals, J.B. Burton on bass and vocals, and Greg Sobol on drums and vocals.

In Fisher's voice it's like he's channeling musical essences of Dwight Yoakum, Chris Isaak, Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison, Elvis and The Everly Brothers -- kind of like how nuances complicate a rich and flavorful wine. Sobol's drums add the classic country beat, Minchk the twang of the country guitar and Burton the fullness of the strum.

Says Robert K. Oermann, the DISClaimer at Music Row, of the "Lovin' You" single: Big Blue Hearts "has a crisp, pop approach and the catchy tunes to back it up. This is the first single and lead-off tune of a CD called HERE COME THOSE DREAMS AGAIN that contains 10 of the juiciest songs I've heard since the glory days of Crowded House. Think Chris Isaak/Roy Orbison with a little more twang."

Upcoming gigs around Texas include:

Thursday, December 15, Hard Rock Cafe, Dallas
Thursday, December 29, Firewater Bar & Grill, Dallas
Saturday, December 31, Texas Grand, Beeville, Texas
Thursday, January 5, The Black Gold Bar, Crowley, Texas
