Show is Part of Inaugural Dell Lounge Presents Tour to Shine Spotlight on New Bands;
Tour to Feature Demonstrations, Giveaways & Events Tied to New Dell Music Creator Products
AUSTIN, TX — Dell Lounge Presents, a tour that features two of the top performers in the Austin City Limits Music Festival’s “The Sound and the Jury” battle of the bands, continues with a show at Houston’s Meridian in mid-January as part of the regional inaugural tour.
Abilene ambient rockers Homer Hiccolm & the Rocketboys play at 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2008, at Meridian, 1503 Chartres in Houston. Tickets are $12 at Ticket Master, 713.629.3700; club information, 713.225.1717. Austin pop-rock sextet nelo takes the stage at 9:30 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m.
nelo and Homer Hiccolm & the Rocketboys, who both earned mega-votes in the competition, will play at least six concert dates this winter as part of the Dell Lounge Presents tour, which began with shows in Athens, Ga., Austin and Fort Worth. Future dates include Feb. 9, 2008, at the Granada Theater in Dallas and a show in February in College Station. Check the Dell Lounge site at www.DellLounge.com for updates.
During the tour, Dell Lounge will capture music and video footage and post it at www.delllounge.com, including concert performances and behind-the-scenes action. Several performances will be recorded using a specially configured Dell PC designed for anyone, professional level to amateur, to record and edit high-quality digital audio. The PC will be available at participating Guitar Center stores in 2008.

nelo is slated to release its debut studio album of up-tempo, jazz-inspired, alternative-infused originals in March 2008, co-produced by Freddy Fletcher and Steve Fishell for Texas-based Pedernales Records. The band — principal songwriter Matt Ragland on acoustic guitar, Reid Umstattd on lead vocals, Chris Hill on drums and percussion, Stephen Goodson on electric guitar, David Long on sax and flute, and Mike St. Clair on bass and trombone — has been touring nationally for more than a year, including shows in Phoenix and Nashville.
Homer Hiccolm & the Rocketboys has just released its second EP, SING, BIRD, SING (available at shows), which features the band’s contagious melodies and lyrics, a drum-driven foundation for soaring guitars and atmospheric keyboard-playing, and singer Brandon Kinder’s powerful voice. It’s the first studio recording in more than two years by the band: Kinder on guitar and piano, Josh Campbell on bass, Philip Ellis on drums, Mitchell Holt on guitar and vocals, Daniel Wheeler on guitar, and Justin Wiseman on keyboards.
