THE GINN SISTERS PLAY AUSTIN SHOW
TO MARK RELEASE OF BLOOD ORANGES

Austin, Texas — The Ginn Sisters, the harmony-driven, roots-country sister band from Schulenburg (southeast of Austin) plays a free show in Austin to mark the release of its second album, BLOOD ORANGES (Sweetbird Records; street date: June 27).

The band, led by the super-talented Tiffani and Brit Ginn, plays at 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 1, at The Cactus Cafe, 2247 Guadalupe St. on the University of Texas campus. No cover; information: 512.475.6515.

Even before the new album’s release, BLOOD ORANGES is already garnering attention for the girls’ band, being ranked as Most Added Band on the national Americana/R&R chart for the second week in a row.

Four of the 13 smart songs on the CD — “Down the Drain,” “Broken Spirit,” “2 Cool 2 Cry” and “Let it Burn” — represent the world of love, loss and second chances that lead singer-guitarist and songstress Tiffani writes about, albeit in an upbeat, vocally joyous way. Sister Brit adds harmonies as well as a masterful flute and melodica.
