 Ernie Hudson, Lead Actor (“Tom Black”)

After a stint in the U.S. Marine Corps, Ernie Hudson moved to Detroit and became resident playwright at Concepts East, the oldest African American theater in the country. He also established the Actor’s Ensemble Theatre.

After entering the M.F.A. program at the Yale School of Drama on a full scholarship, Hudson won the co-starring role in his first feature film, Gordon Parks’ “Leadbelly

Hudson segued into the starring role of Jack Jefferson in Minneapolis Theatre in the Round’s production of “The Great White Hope.”  A series of starring and guest roles followed on such serial TV programs as “Fantasy Island,” “Taxi” and “The A-Team” as well as in TV movies such as “White Mama” with Bette Davis and “Roots II

Hudson is best known for starring roles in mega-hit feature films such as “Ghostbusters,” “Ghostbusters II,” “Miss Congeniality” and “Miss Congeniality 2” as well as for his acclaimed performance in “The Hand That Rocks The Cradle.”  Other credits include “The Jazz Singer,” “The Main Event,” “The Basketball Diaries” and the HBO series “Oz
