New Zealand-Born Singer Croons Her Tunes from New Recording
AUSTIN, Texas — Singer-songwriter Jackie Bristow, who puts a soft, sensual spin on love songs and life lessons on her new pop recording, the haunting and beautiful CRAZY LOVE (recorded through Sydney-based independent label Craving Records for which U.S. and international licensing agreements are being sought), returns to her new hometown of Los Angeles to play three shows in April.
Fresh from showcasing during Canadian Music Week in Toronto and South By Southwest Music Festival 2007 in Austin (the latter hosted by Craving Records and LA-based Desert Highway Records), the warm and soulful Bristow plays Hotel Café on April 3, Live at the Lounge on April 23 and Genghis Cohen on April 25. For more information http://mcguckinpr.com/mcguckin/jackiebristow/jackiebristow.htm
CRAZY LOVE was produced by Helik Hadar (mixer/engineer Madeleine Peyroux, Joni Mitchell) with a stunning cast of musicians including Mark Punch (Renee Geyer), Larry Klein (Joni Mitchell, Peter Gabriel), Tim Pierce (Tom Petty, Rod Stewart), Brian MacLeod (Sheryl Crow) and Larry Goldings (James Taylor).
Bristow started singing at age 8 in Gore on New Zealand’s South Island, and with her younger sister, Katrina, gathered an armful of that country’s country music Golden Guitar Awards. She left high school for Invercargill Polytechnic Music School and bloomed as a singer in pop and cover bands and as a songwriter. Five years after she moved to Australia, one of her demos found its way onto an industry executive’s desk, and it would lead to writing and recording deals. She’s toured as opener with some of the biggest names to criss-cross Australia.
Bristow, having delighted the 2 island countries, is now based in the United States and looking to build a U.S. team for release, licensing and more.
Interview times are available as well as press kits.
