PANGAEA NIGHTCLUB TO BE 1 OF THE SHOWCASING VENUES
FOR THIS YEAR’S SXSW MUSIC FESTIVAL

National & International Acts, DJs Including Daniel Lanois,
Perry Farrell & Digitalism Slated for 4 Events March 12-15

Austin, TX — Austin’s new ultra-lounge, Pangaea, will be a venue for showcases and special events Wednesday, March 12, through Saturday, March 15, during South By Southwest Music Festival 2008 — the first participation as an official music venue for the 4-month-old Warehouse District nightclub.

Highlights of the week include an after-party with rock legend-SXSW Music keynote speaker Lou Reed following a screening of the film “Lou Reed’s ‘Berlin’” as well as a performance later that evening by award-winning singer-songwriter/music producer Daniel Lanois on Wednesday, March 12; a DJ set/live performance featuring Lollapalooza and Jane’s Addiction founder Perry Farrell on Thursday, March 13; performances by Sydney rockers The Vines and Swedish pop singer Robyn on Friday, March 14; and sets by DJs Holy Ghost! of New York and Digitalism of Hamburg, Germany, on Saturday, March 15.

Also during South By Southwest, Pangaea will host after-parties for some of the most noted events, including that of the annual Texas Film Hall of Fame Awards, held March 7 with actress-Hall inductee Morgan Fairchild and actor-presenter Luke Wilson in attendance, and other events in connection with the SXSW Film and Interactive festivals, including those presented by Facebook.

SXSW Showcases at Pangaea, 409 Colorado St.:
Admission to showcases is by official SXSW badge and wristband first and then by individually purchased tickets. All shows are for those 21 and older.
