SUSAN GIBSON PLAYS GRUENE HALL
IN DECEMBER
AFTER JAUNT THROUGH NORTHEAST
(Austin, Texas) ö Texas singer-songwriter Susan Gibson has
"found her true home on the road," writes Alex Kent of the
Shreveport Times. Continually perfecting her soulful stage
show for grateful fans, she's had on her traveling shoes
since the release of her latest collection of roots-rock
tunes, OUTERSPACE.
Between shows in Boston, Washington, D.C., and New York and
others in Virginia and Colorado, Gibson isnāt neglecting her
home state and returns for several dates across Texas. First
on the list for Gibson and her band, Moving Parts, is an 8
p.m. show at Gruene Hall, 1601 Hunter Road, on Thursday,
December 8. No cover; information: 830.606.1281.
OUTERSPACE, a collection themed by the joy of travel and
journeying solo, features "Happiest When I'm Moving"
(co-written with Jim Lauderdale), which reflects the
songwriter's upbeat spirit, and Gibsonās live version of her
"Wide Open Spaces," the song that Dixie Chicks took to #1
and that earned CMA Single of the Year and Country
Songwriter of the Year honors for Gibson. "Together Strong"
and "Company Man," three other unforgettable melodies in
genuine Gibson style that reach listeners, through personal
soul-searching that goes public or by poking fun at herself.
"Her songs come from a personal place, yet also seem to
apply to every broken relationship I've ever had or heard
about, giving perspective to the musician and the listener,"
writes John Boyd of the San Angelo Standard-Times.
Gibson's tour behind OUTERSPACE continues through the New
Year, with live performances across the country including:
November 9: MacHenry's, Fort Worth
November 15: Jamminā Java, Vienna, Va.
November 16: The Living Room, New York City
November 17: Johnny D's, Somerville, Mass.
November 18: Rosendale Cafe, Rosendale, New York
November 19: Split Level House Concerts, Scott Plains, N.J.
November 25: Phil's Firehouse, Comfort, Texas
December 3: Cactus Caf, Austin
December 8: Gruene Hall, Gruene
